Thanksgiving
Thank you to all our guests over the Thanksgiving weekend. We had a wonderful time visiting with everyone. We appreciate all the great feedback on the squash soup. The grapevine wreaths that were made looked fabulous.

Fall Crush
We finished crushing the last of the grapes. Harvest was a little latter than last year - due to the colder weather we had.

Federweisser und Zwiebelkucken
The weather was beautiful, the zwiebelkuchen, or onion tart, was delicious - (Joreen at Bon Vinos did an awesome job) - and the Federweisser, or still fermenting wine was chilled and refreshing. We had a great time with everyone who came by. It is such a treat to tast the wine at that in-between stage.

Pumpkins and Apples - all for a great cause
This harvest, Steppe Cellars will be selling local pumpkins and apples fresh from our orchards. Pick out a pumpkin from our "pumpkin patch" - or choose from our Gala and Golden apples. All proceeds will go to benefit Project Hope, a health-care organization Gabrielle has worked with both in Africa and after Hurricane Katrina.

1st Crush of 2008
We had our first crush of the season this past weekend. The Syrah, Merlot, and Tempranillo grapes are now all fermenting on their skins. The Syrah grapes that we are using for the Rose is all pressed. It was a beautiful weekend. The grapes look great. And we so enjoyed sharing the experience of crush with all of our guests this weekend!

Seattle Farmer's Markets
The summer season at the Magnolia Farmer's Market has just one month left. Hard to believe, as t it was off to a slow start for most growers, and produce is just now in full swing. We're hoping to keep our loyal Steppe Cellars market customers happy over the "off season" by offering a special discount on case purchases, so you can keep enjoying Steppe Cellars wines over the winter. Stop by and talk with Mike and Gabrielle for details. See you Saturdays at the market!

We're close to ready to send out our first email newsletter! We've been looking forward to sending this email for a long time. This one will be especially interesting because we'd love for people to sign up for our Federweisser und Zweibelkuchen! If you're interested in attending, just shoot an email over!

There is some more 2005 Merlot
We have a little more 2005 Merlot! We found a layer of Merlot that was not labeled on the outside of the shrink wrap. So for those of you that stopped by and wanted some when we said we were sold out, we have 14 cases now that we can sell. Send us an e-mail if you would like to have some shipped to you.
